Hockey

Whitehorse is home to two major hockey arenas and a total of four sheets ice.

The Takhini Arena includes both indoor and outdoor rinks with an ice surface of 200’ x 500’, and seating for 1500 people. This facility has recently undergone upgrades to meet standards for the Canada Winter Games, held in Whitehorse in 2007.

A new, state-of-the-art facility was also constructed in Whitehorse. Minutes from the original arena, the Canada Games Center includes two sheets of ice, Olympic & NHL, and a multitude of additional amenities that can facilitate cross-training for athletes.
